Summary
Beddit is a thin band that goes across the bed and is powered via USB. It claims to measure sleep, snoring, sleep cycles, sleep trends over time, and incorporate notes from the day to improve sleep habits. It uses a piezo force sensor, capacitive touch sensor, humidity sensor, temperature sensor and microphone (in smartphone). Mechanism of sleep estimation is not publicly available but appears to be based on movement sensed by piezo force sensors, as well as physiologic changes in heart rate and RR. A smartphone microphone records ambient noise, including snoring. Consumers can input notes to receive suggestions on improving sleep habits.
